There are two cemeteries in Nieder-Erlenbach , a district of Frankfurt am Main .

Old graveyard

The old cemetery at Kapersburgstrasse 2c was established in 1874. It has an area of 0.5  hectares and has 500 graves.

At the head of the cemetery is the von Lersner family crypt . Like the family cemetery next to it, it is a listed building . The crypt is the entrance structure to the graves. It was built on the plan of a Greek cross in sparse Gothic forms. It was first occupied in 1847. The von Lersner family's burial ground consists of six granite steles that look like natural rocks.

A simple, small obelisk made of red Main sandstone commemorates those who died in the war of 1870/71 .

"Georg Hark: wounded August 19, 1870 in Vernéville - died September 13, 1870 - rest gently in strange earth"

- side

"1814 - What the fathers did not suspect when they planted the <illegible> of thanks - 1871 - The grandchildren saw them thankfully put the stone - Nieder Erlenbach April 10, 1871"

- front

"The warriors against France 1870–71 - <List with 12 names>"

The mourning hall is also at the head end of the cemetery.
