Usingen cemetery
The cemetery of the city of Usingen is located on Friedhofsweg near the former district court of Usingen .
Cultural monuments
There are three cultural monuments in the cemetery :
cenotaph
The memorial for those who fell in the Franco-German War 1870/71 was erected in the cemetery in 1987 and is a listed building . The memorial was originally placed on the Palace Square. The planning comes from architect Schmidt, the stone carving was carried out by Jakob May from Bad Homburg. In 1962 the Schlossplatz was redesigned as a parking lot. In this context, the monument in a corner of the was Castle Parkes added . In 1987 he was transferred to the cemetery again, this time. As part of the implementation, the character of the monument has changed significantly. Originally based on an ancient grave monument, it is now a semicircle, the center of which is the actual monument. It is an antique sarcophagus decorated with oak crosses and iron crosses. It is surrounded by pillars made of red sandstone. Plaques give the names of the fallen from Usingen.
Grave of Karl Markus Feye
Karl Markus Feye was a music teacher at the Usinger School . His monument-protected tomb consists of a sarcophagus standing on a plinth, which shows the dates of his life (* February 17, 1809 in Idstein, † May 24, 1886 in Usingen) on the front side in a lunette field. Above it is a field decorated with a Gothic three-pass and a sculpted lute that refers to the deceased's profession.
Grave of Friedrich August Wengenroth
Friedrich August Wengenroth (born April 29, 1808 in Reifenberg ; † February 1, 1883 in Usingen) was a doctor and surgeon in Usingen. He was co-founder and president of the Usinger gymnastics club (1843–1883) and head of the voluntary medical corps Usingen & Anspach in the Franco-German War of 1870/71. Wengenrothstrasse in the Schleichenbach development area is named after him. His tomb in the form of a sandstone obelisk is also a listed building.

There is a war cemetery in the cemetery next to the memorial. The mourning hall is at the entrance from Friedhofsweg.
