Vatiala cemetery

The Vatiala Cemetery in Kangasala , Finland is a cemetery supported by the Evangelical Lutheran Congregations of Tamperes in the Finnish municipality of Kangasala, near the city limits of Tampere. The cemetery was established in 1960 . It has an area of ​​25 hectares, including a forest cemetery of 1.5 hectares. The cemetery has a memorial and a cemetery for non-denominationalists.

The chapel, designed by the architect Viljo Revell , is an important work of modern Finnish architecture. Concrete , bronze and pine wood were used as building materials . The interior of the chapel was designed by Olli Borg . Veikko Rauhala designed the cemetery complex .

There has also been a crematorium in the cemetery since 2013 .
