Friedmund Hueber

Friedmund Hueber (born January 26, 1941 ) is an Austrian architect , building researcher and monument conservator.

After studying architecture in Vienna, which he completed with a diploma and later a Dr. techn. graduated, Hueber devoted himself to practical architectural work. For many years he was involved in archaeological building research and the preservation of monuments during the Austrian excavations in Ephesus . His involvement in the anastylosis of the facade of the Celsus library there, carried out from 1970 to 1978, was of particular importance .

Hueber is habilitation at the Vienna University of Technology and Professor of Historic Building Research at the Catholic University of Louvain ( Leuven ). He is a state-authorized and sworn civil engineer, head of department at the University of Applied Sciences Campus Vienna until 2009, a generally sworn and court-certified expert for urban and regional planning, monument protection and cityscape maintenance and a permanent member of the monument advisory board of the Federal Monuments Office .

Until 2005, Hueber was head of the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute for Monument Preservation and Archaeological Building Research. He is currently President of the Austrian Society for the Preservation of Monuments and Sites . In 1999 he received the State Prize for Consulting 1999 in the Architectural Design group for the "Development and Application of Anastylosis".

Hueber has been a member of Corps Posonia Vienna since his early student days .
