Friedrich-Franz-Cross

The Friedrich-Franz-Kreuz was donated on August 1st, 1917 by Friedrich Franz IV. , Grand Duke of Mecklenburg [-Schwerin], and was in recognition of special merits in the field of military service in the homeland as well as for outstanding patriotic or charitable interests services provided.

Order decoration

The medal is a gilded Leopold cross made of bronze with a longer lower cross arm. A branch of laurel runs under the outer arms of the cross on the left and right . A crown can be seen in the upper arm of the cross and the year 1917 ( year of foundation) in the lower arm . In the middle of the cross lies a medallion showing the mirrored letters FF (Friedrich Franz). On the back the reduced Mecklenburg Military Merit Cross .

Carrying method

The award was worn on a light blue ribbon with a red border and a yellow side stripe on the left side of the chest.

Others

After the owner's death, the Friedrich-Franz-Kreuz had to be returned.
