Friedrich August Christian Sölling (born February 27, 1824 in Essen ; † December 4, 1894 ibid) was a German businessman, city ​​councilor and alderman of the city of Essen and chairman of the board of the Sparkasse Essen .

Friedrich August Christian Sölling, the son of a businessman, volunteered on several agricultural estates after finishing school . After the death of his father, he joined his parents' manufactured goods business.

From 1869 to 1892 Sölling was a city councilor for the city of Essen and from 1872 to 1885 an unpaid councilor in the city council.

Sölling was a member of the board of directors of Sparkasse Essen from 1866 to 1894 and was its chairman from 1866 to 1889.

In 1890 he was awarded the Royal Crown Order, IV class.

Friedrich August Christian Sölling was first buried in the cemetery at Kettwiger Tor . After its closure in 1955, the grave was moved to the Ostfriedhof Essen .
