Friedrich August Feyerabend

Friedrich August Feyerabend (born August 26, 1809 in Heiligenbeil ; † March 9, 1882 ibid) was Mayor of the city of Heiligenbeil in East Prussia from 1835 to 1882 and a member of the Prussian National Assembly in 1848 .

family

Feyerabend's father Friedrich Ernst Feyerabend (1779-1834) was his predecessor as mayor in Heiligenbeil from 1817 to 1834, his mother was Johanna Juliane Kühnast (1783-1824).

Life

Feyerabend was appointed mayor of his hometown on February 16, 1835 for six years and then for life in 1842, serving it in this capacity for a total of 47 years until his death.

Feyerabend represented the Heiligenbeil district in the Prussian state parliament and was also a member of the Prussian National Assembly, which existed from May 22, 1848 to December 5, 1848 .

Feyerabendstrasse and Feyerabendplatz in Heiligenbeil are named after Feyerabend. On the latter, a cast-iron monument was erected in his honor in 1883 and provided with the following inscription: "In memory of the mayor August Feyerabend, who was beneficial in the local city from 1835 to 1882, erected by the grateful citizens".
