Friedrich Bendixen (born September 30, 1864 in San Francisco , † July 29, 1920 in Hamburg ) was a German economist and banker .

Bendixen studied in Heidelberg and Leipzig and graduated with a doctorate as Dr.-jur. from. From 1895 until his death he was an employee and later a member of the board of directors of the Hypothekenbank in Hamburg . He wrote works in the field of monetary theory based on Georg Friedrich Knapp's "State Theory of Money" and on the fundamentals of credit theory. Bendixen was a member of the founding board of trustees of the Hamburg Scientific Foundation .
