Frederik von Gabel
Frederik von Gabel (* 1640s in Bremen ? † June 21, 1708 in Copenhagen ) was a Danish statesman and businessman.
Life
Frederik von Gabel is the son of Christoffer von Gabel . His exact place of birth is as little known as the year of birth, but was probably in Bremen at the time when his father lived there.
In both the history of Norway and the history of the Faroe Islands , Frederik von Gabel plays an important role as (vice) governor of the Danish crown. In the Faroe Islands one can still remember the dark chapter of the “ fork time ” when first his father and then he really owned the Faroe Islands as feudal lords and monopoly traders.
