Oskar August Friedrich Münzinger (born March 25, 1884 in Metzingen , Württemberg, † October 14, 1962 in Berlin ) was a German power plant builder.

Life

His parents were the doctor Wilhelm Münzinger (1845-1896) and Sophie (1846-1893), his older brother the future agricultural scientist Adolf Münzinger .

Friedrich Münzinger studied mechanical engineering at the TH Berlin-Charlottenburg and was then assistant to Emil Josse . In 1913 he became a Dr.-Ing. With an examination of a 15-horse MAN diesel engine. PhD.

Georg Klingenberg brought him to AEG, where he worked on steam boiler systems as part of AEG's overall power plant construction. While furnace and boiler construction were mainly based on experience in the past and were carried out by small companies without their own laboratories, Münzinger's standard works brought about a standardization of boiler construction and placed it on a scientific basis.

Since his retirement in 1953, he has also dealt with steam generation using nuclear power.
