Friedrich Marpurg

Friedrich Marpurg (born April 4, 1825 in Paderborn , † December 2, 1884 in Wiesbaden ) was a German conductor and composer .

The great-grandson of the music theorist Friedrich Wilhelm Marpurg held the position of court conductor for the Duke of Nassau. He also conducted at the Wiesbaden men's choir Concordia . After his death, the association had his tomb erected in the city's north cemetery out of gratitude .
