Friedrich Pohl (biologist)

Friedrich Pohl (* 1963 ) is a German biologist , beekeeper and author of several specialist books on bee diseases and keeping.

Life

Friedrich Pohl was born in 1963. According to his own account, he has been keeping bees since he was 14 years old. He studied at the Ruhr University in Bochum and at the Reich University of Groningen . In 1998 he received his doctorate at the Research Center for Bees at the University of Bremen with the text Multiple pathogens of the honey bee Apis mellifera L. depending on the parasitization by the mite Varroa jacobsoni Oud. for a doctorate in science .

He is employed at the Veterinary Office in Bremen, where he is responsible for bee diseases. In addition, he gives lectures and leads further education events. The books he published have been translated into several languages.
