Aloys Friedrich "Fritz" Romans (* 4. June 1895 in Elberfeld , † 21st June 1970 in Cologne ) was a German officer of the Air Force of the Armed Forces , the last major general .

Life

At the beginning of the Second World War , Friedrich Römer became the commander of Flak Regiment 201 in the II. Flak Corps , which he handed over to Colonel Adolf Pirmann in June 1940 . As a result, he served as the successor to Richard Reimann as commander of the Flak Regiment 8. From November 1942 to the end of April 1943 he was commander of the 15th Flak Brigade .

He then took over command of the 22nd Flak Division , which he led until the end of the war. On October 1, 1943, he was promoted to major general. In April 1945 he and his division belonged to the units in Army Group B , which were included in the Ruhr basin . Shortly before the end of the war, he was taken prisoner by the Americans , from which he was released in 1947.

In the 1950s he became managing director of the radio and television department in the Central Association of the Electrical Engineering Industry. V.

Since 1923 Römer was born with Katherina. Schaffranek married. In 1970 he died in a Cologne hospital a few days after his 75th birthday.
