Friedrich Schirmer (politician, 1893)

Friedrich Schirmer (born July 22, 1893 in Vornhagen , Lüdersfeld municipality , Stadthagen district ; † December 28, 1964 in Stadthagen ) was a German politician ( SPD ) and a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament .

Life

Friedrich Schirmer completed an apprenticeship as a bottle maker . In 1910 he joined the trade union, a year later he became a member of the SPD. In 1927 he became head of the General German Trade Union Confederation in Stadthagen . He was also a city councilor in Stadthagen until 1933. From 1937 to 1945 he worked for Continental AG in Hanover . After the end of National Socialism , he became a trade union secretary and mayor of Stadthagen in 1946.

From April 20, 1947 to May 5, 1959 he was a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament (1st to 3rd electoral period).
