About this picture

Lüdersfeld is a municipality in the Schaumburg district in Lower Saxony and a member of the Lindhorst municipality .

geography

Lüdersfeld is located around 40 km west of Hanover and can be reached via the federal motorway 2 at the Bad Nenndorf junction, further along the federal road 65 towards Stadthagen . In the north, the municipality extends to the Mittelland Canal, in the south over the B 65 to almost the Bückeberge .

In clockwise direction, these are the city of Sachsenhagen , the municipalities of Lindhorst and Heuerßen , the city of Stadthagen and the municipality of Lauenhagen .

Districts are Lüdersfeld with Niedernholz and Vornhagen with Vornhagen settlement. Obernhagen and Niedernhagen are just street names. Vornhagen has the different phone code 05721.

history

  • Lüdersfeld's first documentary mention dates from 1217 . In "The territories in relation to their formation and their development" by Georg Landau (1854) it says in a footnote on page 27:
A document from 1241 names us there as indagines Heidorn, Nordseel, Lauenhagen, Schmalenhagen, Osterwald, Oldenhagen, Lüdersfeld and Wienbrücke (Leibnit. Sct. R. Brunsv. II. 184). In addition (sic!) Pollhagen, Hülshagen, Probsthagen, Krebshagen etc. also belong here.
From 1269 to 1602 the von Münchhausen landlords were in Nordsehl and Lüdersfeld.
On March 1, 1937, the Lüdersfeld volunteer fire brigade was founded.
  • Niedernholz did not emerge until 1600 as a side village of Lüdersfeld and came to the Lippe part in 1648 when the county of Schaumburg was divided. In 1871 the place formed a rural municipality with Nienbrügge . On April 1, 1956, it was incorporated into the community of Lüdersfeld.
  • Vornhagen existed as early as 1195 and is considered a Hagen colony established by Probsthagen. Until 1871, the place belonged to the municipal office of Stadthagen and then formed its own rural community. On January 1, 1970, the community voluntarily joined what was then the joint community of Lindhorst. On March 1, 1974, Vornhagen was incorporated into Lüdersfeld. The last town mayor was Friedrich Hecht from 1968 to 1974.
The Vornhagen volunteer fire brigade was founded in 1951 with 27 members at the time.

On April 10, 1952, it was said: “In Lüdersfeld they came across coal”. In 1954, the final shaft production started operating, after initial difficulties caused by gas and water ingress, which in 1953 had cost the lives of two miners. In 1956, an underground connecting railway was built, which connected the shaft in Lüdersfeld with the Beckedorf shaft and also with the Georg shaft in Stadthagen. In addition, the Lüdersfeld mine was connected to the Hanover-Minden railway line via a link . Another connection was created through the construction of a cable car to the Auhagen colliery, which was also built in the 1950s .

In 1960 ended due to the decisions of the coal and steel mining in Lüdersfeld, Beckedorf, Auhagen and in Georg Schacht Stadthagen, although the mines Lüdersfeld and Auhagen were at that time the most modern mines in Europe. In the following period, the Lüdersfeld shaft was backfilled and the buildings were used for other commercial purposes. The former cooling tower belonging to the colliery is a listed building.

religion

The inhabitants of Lüdersfeld are 55% Protestant and 5% Catholic.

All places in the municipality belong to the parish of the Evangelical Lutheran parish of Probsthagen and thus to the Schaumburg-Lippische Landeskirche. The Lutherans belong to the parish Probsthagen in the church district East of the Evangelical Lutheran Regional Church Schaumburg-Lippe . In Lüdersfeld there is the Johanneskapelle from the 15th century, in which services are held only irregularly.

The Catholics are assigned to the parish of St. Joseph in Stadthagen , which belongs to the Weserbergland Dean's Office in the Diocese of Hildesheim . The next branch church is St. Barbara in Lindhorst .
