Ahnsen is a municipality in the district of Schaumburg in Lower Saxony . The municipality of Ahnsen is a member municipality of the integrated municipality of Eilsen .
Geographical location
The community is located on the edge of the Weserbergland Schaumburg-Hameln nature park between Minden and Hameln.
history
Former place names of Ahnsen were in the years 1256 to Adenhhusen, 1381 to Adenhusen, 1441 to Adensen and 1591 to Ansen. It is a combination of the name Ado as a short form of full names like Adolf to the root word Atha-, but shortened to the rhythm of the name. Ahnsen is related to the term nobility in the meaning of "noble sex". Ahnsen in the Gifhorn district represents a parallel .

- At the location of today's “New Mill” on Neumühlener Straße, which was first mentioned in the “Directory of farmers with details of the arable land” created in 1550, there were water mills with older mill technology long before that.

Companies
In 1920 a bleaching agent plant of the Chemische Fabrik Schaumburg AG was founded in Ahnsen, which ceased operations in 1931. The Hamburg Laminated Wood AG branch founded in 1938 was dissolved in 1953.
