Sports

TuS Kreuzriehe - Helsinghausen emerged from the merger of the TV Kreuzriehe and TuS Helsinghausen associations. Both clubs were founded simultaneously in the winter of 1924 as a men's gymnastics club (MTV).

The reason for the establishment of both clubs was the start of gymnastics, which already existed in the neighboring communities. It was difficult to get the gymnastics going because there was no equipment and there was not enough money for it after the First World War . Gradually, however, equipment was purchased and gymnastics took place on two evenings outdoors or in the hall of the local inn. Athletics and batting were soon started and competitions were held in these sports as well as in gymnastics with the neighboring communities.

From the time of the association until today, the number of members increased steadily. The membership increased from 222 at the time of the merger to 348 before the hall was built in 1993 and in 2007 to 564 members.

Today the sports handball, tennis, table tennis, volleyball, gymnastic self-defense, badminton, old men’s sport, unicycling, women's gymnastics, children's gymnastics and mother-child gymnastics are offered and practiced.
