Riehe is a district of the municipality of Suthfeld in the Schaumburg district in Lower Saxony . Suthfeld is a municipality with no eponymous capital.

location

The village is located about three kilometers northeast of Bad Nenndorf in the Schaumburger Land on the north-western edge of the Deister . Bundesautobahn 2 runs to the east and Bundesstraße 442 to the west .

history

The Riehe municipal well

Riehe was created as a side village of Waltringhausen . In a list of residents of Waltringhausen from 1582, residents of Up der Rie are named. In 1665, a Krugwirt is documented for the first time. It was not until 1747 that Riehe was named in the "City and Village Book of the Upper and Lower Duchy of Hesse" as a place with 35 fire places. Because of the poor groundwater conditions, miners from Rieher built a community well in 1893 on the boundary of Waltringhausen.

On March 1, 1974, Riehe was incorporated into the community of Suthfeld.

Hanover and Hanover-Langenhagen Airport can be reached in around 30 minutes by car via the federal motorway 2 , junction Bad Nenndorf. The nearest train station is in Haste . The public transport is ensured by the Schaumburger-Verkehrs-GmbH (SVG) over the line 2602.

  • The memorial for the fallen from both world wars consists of three sandstone steles and stands at the southern exit of the village.
  • There are several medium-sized businesses as well as a restaurant and a hotel in the village.
  • Riehe belongs to the parish of Bad Nenndorf, burials take place in the cemetery in Waltringhausen.
  • With the "Lindenbrinklied" the place also has its own hymn.
  • In 2012, remnants of the desert on the Lindenbrink were discovered on the Lindenbrink survey .
  • The pump festival and the harvest festival take place at annually recurring events.
