Frederick VII (Zollern)

Friedrich VII von Zollern († after October 6, 1309) was a Count of Zollern .

Life

Friedrich was the older son of Count Friedrich VI. von Zollern from his marriage to Kunigunde (1265–1310), daughter of Margrave Rudolf I of Baden .

In 1298 he married Euphemia († 1333), daughter of Count Albrecht II von Hohenberg . The marriage was initiated personally by King Rudolf I and ended the long rivalry between the two Swabian counts Hohenberg and Zollern. After Friedrich's death, his brother Friedrich VIII ruled over the ancestral home of the Hohenzollern family.

From his marriage Friedrich had two sons:

  • Fritzli I († around 1313), Lord of Zollern
  • Albrecht († around 1320)
