Sverre Jordan

Sverre Jordan (born May 25, 1889 in Christiania , † January 10, 1972 in Bergen ) was a Norwegian composer and pianist.

Jordan studied from 1907 to 1914 in Berlin a. a. at the Klindworth-Scharwenka Conservatory and then performed as a pianist. From 1922 to 1932 he was the choir conductor of the orchestral association Harmonie in Bergen. He then directed the orchestra of the National Theater until 1957.

He composed a melodrama for orchestra, orchestral suites, two piano concertos, a cello, a violin and a horn concert, plays, chamber music, piano pieces, choral works and more than two hundred songs.
