Friedrich Wilhelm Enzmann
Friedrich Wilhelm Enzmann (born January 27, 1802 in Großpöhla ; † February 13, 1866 in Dresden ) was a German entrepreneur .
Together with his brother Carl Heinrich Enzmann, he was the founder of the production of photographic equipment in Germany, probably even worldwide outside of France . According to its first advertisement in the Dresden City Gazette, October 31, 1839 is considered the birthday of the Dresden photo industry. With the introduction of 3, 4 and 6 square inch photographic plates, he was able to significantly reduce the size of his devices compared to those of his French competitor Louis Daguerre . His grave is in the old Annenfriedhof in Dresden.
