Friedrich von Werthern

Friedrich Carl Anton Freiherr von Werthern (born May 4, 1804 in Kleinwerther , † January 18, 1864 in Stettin ) was a Prussian administrative officer and Sachsen-Meiningen politician.

Life

His parents were Ludwig Georg Christoph von Werthern (1744-1814) from the Werthern-Brückener line and Antoinette von Arnstedt (* 1774). Friedrich Carl Anton von Werthern completed his school education at the educational institute founded by Christian Gotthilf Salzmann in Schnepfenthal in 1784 . He then studied at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn . In 1825 he became a member of the Corps Rhenania Bonn . After graduating, he entered the Prussian civil service.

As a secret councilor to the government in Frankfurt / Oder , von Werthern was appointed to the secret council of state and member of the state ministry of the Duchy of Saxony-Meiningen on August 12, 1845 . On December 17, 1846, he was appointed to the Privy Council. On November 15, 1847, he succeeded Friedrich Krafft as head of the state ministry and on December 11, 1847, he received the title of excellence . After a popular gathering in the residence, von Werthern resigned from his position on September 8, 1848 and one day later made his resignation, which was granted with a dismissal decree of January 10, 1849.

Von Werthern returned to the Prussian civil service, where he worked for the government in Stettin until his death.

The later district administrator Heinrich von Werthern was his son.
