Friedrich von Zahn

Friedrich von Zahn (born July 6, 1902 in Charlottenburg , today Berlin-Charlottenburg, † July 3, 1993 in Bonn-Oberkassel ) was a German ministerial official.

Career

From 1929 to 1933, Zahn was employed by the Zwickau district administration , then until 1943 at the Glauchau district administration . From 1943 to 1945 he worked at the regional council in Bromberg in Germany-occupied Poland. His professional career was repeatedly interrupted by military service and imprisonment during the Second World War.

After the end of the war, he worked as a lawyer in Günzburg from 1948 to 1949 . In 1949 he moved to the newly established Federal Ministry for All-German Issues (BMG). From 1949 to 1964 he was head of Section I 4 and (from 1958) I 6 ( cultural and national policy issues , from 1953: culture, youth, sport, women's issues , from 1954: culture and ethnicity issues , from 1958: cultural issues) Affairs ). From 1958 to 1966 (additionally until 1964) he was head of subdivision IB ( cultural issues, support measures ) and from 1966 to 1967 head of department II ( SBZ, eastern areas, promoting the all-German idea , from 1967: politics, public relations ). In 1967 he retired with the rank of Ministerial Director.
