The Friedrichstrasse is a road in the Bonner pedestrian area between Friedenplatz runs and Belderberg, Oxford parallel to the road. It crosses Kasernenstrasse, Bonngasse and Wenzelgasse. Its length is 335 meters, its width between nine and 13 meters, and it has an area of 3,500 square meters. The street was named after Maximilian Friedrich von Königsegg-Rothenfels (1708–1784), Archbishop and Elector of Cologne 1761–1784. As part of the 10-year renovation of Bonn's pedestrian zone, the street was expanded into a pedestrian zone in 2007. For the expansion, which cost around 1.158 million euros, the residents received, among other things, a paved road, twelve new trees, each of which is illuminated by two floor spotlights, and so-called “intelligent lighting”. These are 19 custom-made light steles that allow individual lighting.

During the redesign, the " Path of Famous Personalities " that began in Bonngasse was continued and, starting from Bonngasse, extended towards Wenzelgasse. As in Bonngasse, illuminated floor slabs with portraits of famous Bonn residents were installed.
