Formula 1 world championship
The 2015 Formula 1 World Championship was the 66th season of the Formula 1 World Championship and comprised 19 grands prix. It began on March 15 in Melbourne, Australia and ended on November 29 on Yas Island off Abu Dhabi . On October 25th, the Briton Lewis Hamilton became world driver champion for the third time. Mercedes won the constructors' world championship .
World Rally Championship (WRC)
The 2015 World Rally Championship season was the 43rd FIA - World Rally Championship . It started on January 22nd in Monte Carlo and ended on November 15th in Great Britain. Volkswagen secured the manufacturers' world championship title and the drivers’s world championship title went to the duo Sébastien Ogier and Julien Ingrassia for the third time in a row after 2013 and 2014 .
Endurance World Championship (WEC)
The World Endurance Championship in 2015 (officially 2015 FIA World Endurance Championship) is the fourth season of FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC). The season consisted of eight races. It started on April 12th at Silverstone and ends on November 21st in Bahrain. Timo Bernhard , Brendon Hartley and Mark Webber won the driver's world title with Porsche (manufacturer world champion).
Le Mans 24 hour race
The 83rd 24-hour race of Le Mans took place on June 13 and 14, 2015 on the Circuit des 24 Heures . The winners Earl Bamber , Nick Tandy and Nico Hulkenberg with a Porsche 919 Hybrid .
IndyCar Series
The IndyCar Series 2015 was the 20th season of the American IndyCar Series and the 104th season in American monoposto sport. It began on March 29th in St. Petersburg and ended on August 30th in Sonoma. Scott Dixon won the IndyCar Series for the fourth time. Juan Pablo Montoya won this year's Indianapolis 500 .
Porsche Supercup
The 2015 Porsche Supercup was the 23rd season of the Porsche Supercup. It comprised ten races. The season started in Barcelona on May 10th and ended in Austin on October 25th . Philipp Eng became a master in this series for the first time.
Formula E championship
The FIA Formula E Championship 2014/15 was the first season of the FIA Formula E Championship. It began in Beijing on September 13, 2014 and ended in London on June 28, 2015. The season consisted of eleven races. Nelson Piquet Jr. (NEXTEV TCR Formula E Team) won the drivers' championship. Team e.dams Renault won the team ranking.
badminton
The highlights of the badminton year 2015 were the World Championship and the Sudirman Cup . Important tournament series were the BWF Super Series and the BWF Grand Prix . At multisport events, badminton was part of the program at the Pan-African Games , the Pan-American Games , the Southeast Asian Games and the Universiade .

- September 19 to October 3: The Heidenheim Heideköpfe win 3-2 games against the Buchbinder Legionnaires and thus the 2015 German championship .
- October 27 to November 1: The Kansas City Royals win the 2015 World Series with 4-1 victories against the New York Mets, making them champions of the 2015 MLB season .

MotoGP class (1000 cm³)
- The 28-year-old Spaniard Jorge Lorenzo on a Yamaha is world champion in the MotoGP class (1000 cm³) ahead of the Italian Valentino Rossi (also Yamaha) and the Spaniard Marc Márquez ( Honda ). Lorenzo wins seven of the 18 races in a Yamaha YZR-M1 , making it his sixth world title. In the constructors' championship , Yamaha prevailed against Honda and Ducati .
Moto2 class (600 cm³)
- In the Moto2 class (600 cm³), the 25-year-old Frenchman Johann Zarco wins the title on Kalex . Spanish rider Álex Rins came in second, his compatriot, last year's world champion Esteve Rabat (both also Kalex) , came third . For Zarco this is the first world title of his career. In the constructors' championship , Kalex wins ahead of Speed Up and Tech 3 . For the German manufacturer, this is the third title win in the category that has been held since 2010 .
Moto3 class (250 cm³)
- The title in the fourth Moto3 class (250 cm³) was won by the 21-year-old Briton Danny Kent on a Honda ahead of the Portuguese Miguel Oliveira ( KTM ) and the Italian Enea Bastianini (also Honda). For Kent it is the first world title of his career. In the constructors' championship , Honda wins ahead of KTM and Mahindra .
Superbike World Championship
- The 28-year-old Briton Jonathan Rea wins the drivers' championship on a Kawasaki ZX-10R ahead of his compatriots Chaz Davies ( Ducati Panigale R ) and Tom Sykes (also Kawasaki ZX-10R). For Rea, who was third in the World Cup last year, it is the first World Cup title of his career. In the constructors' championship, Kawasaki beat Ducati and Aprilia .

World Supersport Championship
- The Turkish Kenan Sofuoğlu wins the drivers' championship on a Kawasaki ZX-6R ahead of the American PJ Jacobsen (Kawasaki ZX-6R or Honda CBR600RR ) and the Italian Lorenzo Zanetti ( MV Agusta F3 675 ). For the 31-year-old, this is the fourth World Supersport title in his career. In the constructors' championship, Kawasaki prevailed against Honda and MV Agusta .

International German motorcycle championship
Isle of Man TT
- At the road races on the Isle of Man between June 6 and 12, the 36-year-old Englishman Ian Hutchinson won both Supersport and the Superstock races on a Yamaha and Kawasaki . In the Lightweight -Lauf celebrates Ivan Lintin on Kawasaki his first TT victory, the Superbike -race wins the 46-year-old Bruce Anstey from New Zealand on Honda and the TT Zero - as well as in senior -Lauf the 44-year-old is celebrating John McGuinness on Mugen Shinden and Honda respectively his TT victories number 22 and 23.
- In the sidecar class, the English brothers Ben and Tom Birchall won both races on the LCR .
- McGuinness sets a new absolute track record for motorcycles in the senior race on a Honda CBR 1000 RR with 17: 03.567 min and an average speed of 132.701 mph (213.562 km / h ). Dave Molyneux / Benjamin Binns in a DMR-Suzuki set a new record for sidecars with 19: 23.056 min with 116.785 mph (187.947 km / h).
