List of rose varieties |
The yellow floribunda rose Friesia (syn. 'Sunsprite', 'KORresia') was introduced in 1973 by Reimer Kordes. It is a descendant of the roses 'Friedrich Wörlein' × 'Spanish Sun' and one of the most successful floribunda roses. Their name is derived from Friesland , the home of the breeder.
Properties and use
The golden yellow, weather-resistant flowers are semi-double, have an intense smell and appear in clusters from early June to September. The color brightens a little as it fades.
The robust shrub has shiny, leathery leaves, an upright, bushy habit with a height of about 60 cm (40 - 80 cm) and a width of around 40 cm, tolerates heat and is frost hardy to −17 ° C ( USDA zone 6b ) . The rose can be planted individually or in groups. As a 90 cm high trunk, 'Friesia' can also be used as a container plant.
