Fresh air is cool air from a natural environment that is not polluted by harmful substances. Similar to the enjoyment of cool drinks, fresh air is pleasant when a temporary, moderate cooling is felt through the breathing process. In contrast to humid air, relatively dry air gives the impression of high air quality, as the cooling effect is intensified.

Fresh air must be differentiated from outside air in air conditioning technology , since outside air is sucked in outside the building envelope, where the air can be warm, humid and / or polluted.

Ventilation or ventilating describes the process with which one wants to achieve an air exchange in an enclosed or closed room. You can ventilate mechanically or naturally by opening doors and / or windows, as well as through permanent joint ventilation.
