history

With the purchase of “Die Rolle” on April 1, 1961, the Fachschriften-Verlag was founded by Ottmar Strebel. In 1963 the first magazine on the subject of building appeared: “finish building” (today “house building”). In 1966 the Fachschriften-Verlag brought “100 beautiful prefabricated houses” onto the market for the first time. Two years later, in 1970, the publishing house moved to its current headquarters in Fellbach. 1973 the market offer of magazines in the field of construction was further expanded. "Althaus Modernize" was the first magazine in Germany to deal with the topic of renovation and modernization in Germany.

In 1979 Fachschriften-Verlag founded the target group publisher for customer magazines. For sales, the partner Pressevertrieb GmbH was founded in Stuttgart in 1982 by Zenit Pressevertrieb and the owner of the Fachschriften-Verlag. In 1996 the Fachschriften-Verlag took part in the Blottner-Verlag, Taunusstein, with specialist books on the subject of building and renovation. In 1999 the first homepage of the Fachschriften-Verlag (www.bautipps.de) went online. In 2013 the company celebrated 50 years of building magazines in the Fachschriften-Verlag, since in 1963 the magazine "finished build" came onto the market - today's "house building". In 2019 the YouTube channel "Hausbauhelden" was opened.

The Fachschriften-Verlag has been part of Intermedia Vermögensverwaltungs GmbH and Medien Union GmbH since 2017.
