Hausbau is a special interest magazine on the subject of new construction and prefabricated construction. It is published every two months by Fachschriften-Verlag and is aimed at clients and those willing to build who want to find out more about prefabricated buildings. Hausbau appears in Germany, Austria and German-speaking Switzerland. There are also collaborations with editorial offices in Croatia and Russia.

House construction promises a wide range of information on the subject of new construction and gives suggestions for house modernization or renovation, extension and expansion. In addition, the magazine presents companies and prefabricated houses and compares them with one another. Here, tips on interior construction, the design of outdoor facilities as well as numerous current reports from the field of (prefabricated) construction, living ideas, tips and product information should round off the offer.

In each issue, four large advice articles promise extensive information on the subject of building: from planning and execution, to background or advanced topics such as financing and law, to energy or ecology. The editors explain and show constructional procedures as well as material and design options in the prefabricated house area.

In the report, house test a Baufamilie is interviewed about their experience with a construction company. The editors ask the same questions to 30 to 50 other construction families who have built with this company.
