The fries fork is a simple small, from plastic ( polystyrene ) or wood -made disposable - cutlery with usually two or three spikes . There are also reusable stainless steel french fries forks . French forks are usually given at food stalls for the consumption of French fries or sliced bratwurst or currywurst .

Compared to the usual table forks, french fries forks with a length of usually 75 to 90 millimeters are rather short. The polystyrene version is usually three-pronged, the wooden one usually two-pronged. In the Benelux countries and the German regions bordering them, the two-pronged version is more common.
