Fritz-Achim Baumann

Fritz-Achim Baumann (born December 28, 1934 ) is a former German administrative lawyer and head of the Office for the Protection of the Constitution in North Rhine-Westphalia .

From 1955 to 1959 Fritz-Achim Baumann studied law in Münster and Hamburg and passed the first state examination in 1960 and the second in 1964. He received his doctorate from the University of Speyer with an administrative law dissertation on the subject of "The general lower state administrative authority in the district". He then joined the general and internal administration of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia and from 1972 worked for the interior ministry there . From 1987 to 1999 the Social Democrat was head of Department VI of the Ministry of the Interior, which was responsible for the protection of the constitution .

Baumann is Protestant, married and has a daughter.
