Fritz-Heinz Himmelreich

Fritz-Heinz Himmelreich (born February 27, 1930 in Essen ) is a German association functionary.

Himmelreich was born as the son of a Protestant theologian. He completed his studies in economics in Freiburg and Cologne in 1954 with a diploma. In the following years he worked for regional employers' associations in Düren and Bad Hersfeld. During this time he prepared his doctorate, which he submitted in 1959.

In the same year he moved to the Federal Association of German Employers' Associations (BDA), where he soon headed the Finance and Association Organization department and was appointed Deputy General Manager in January 1971. In succession to Ernst-Gerhard Erdmann , he took over the position of General Manager on October 1, 1989. In September 1996 it was adopted.

Between 1974 and 1989 he was a member of the administrative board of the Federal Labor Office and from 1977 to 1989 he was alternating chairman of the board with the representative of the German Federation of Trade Unions . From 1988 to 1992 he was a member of the program advisory board of the television station RTLplus and from 1992 a member of the television advisory board of ZDF .
