Fritz Hinterndorfer

Fritz Hinterndorfer (born July 22, 1898 in Obersdorf , Mitterndorf , † March 8, 1962 in Krems-Stein ) was an Austrian employee and politician ( ÖVP ). Hinterndorfer was a member of the Federal Council and from 1945 to 1956 a member of the Austrian National Council .

Life

Hinterndorfer attended elementary school and then switched to the state high school in Krems an der Donau. Between 1919 and 1938 Hinterndorfer worked as a railway official or board member of the Austrian Federal Railways and then worked in the insurance industry from 1939. As a result, Hinterndorfer was promoted to area manager for the federal states of insurance. Before the Second World War, Hinterndorfer was involved in the Christian Social Party and was a member of the town council of Stein between 1927 and 1933. He was elected mayor in 1933 and held the office until 1938. After the National Socialists came to power, Hinterndorfer was taken into protective custody several times in 1938 and 1939 . After the Second World War, Hinterndorfer was district chairman of the ÖVP Krems in 1945 and between December 19, 1945 and March 18, 1953 a member of the National Council. After that, Hinterndorfer again held a national council mandate from May 2, 1953 to June 8, 1956. Hinterndorfer was also a member of the Federal Council between April 27, 1934 and May 2, 1934.
