Fritz Overbeck (politician)

Fritz Overbeck (born September 17, 1905 in Enkesen ; † October 26, 1984 ) was a German politician and member of the state parliament ( FDP ).

Life and work

After attending elementary school and high school , he studied at the higher agricultural school with a degree in agricultural engineering. Interrupted by military service and imprisonment, he ran his parents' farm.

In 1946 Overbeck became a member of the FDP and was represented in numerous party committees. From 1960 he was district chairman of the FDP in the Soest district. He was also involved in professional organizations. B. Chairman of the Federal Association of State-Certified Farmers.

From July 13, 1954 to July 12, 1958 and from August 9, 1962 to July 25, 1970 Overbeck was a member of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia . In the third and sixth electoral terms, he was elected from his party's state list. In the fifth electoral term he moved up on the state list.

From 1952 he was a member of the municipality of Enkesen and was mayor from 1952 to 1956 . Also from 1952 he belonged to the district council of the Soest district .
