Robert "Rob" McVicar (born January 15, 1982 in Brandon , Manitoba ) is a Canadian ice hockey goalkeeper who was most recently under contract with the Hamburg Freezers in the German Ice Hockey League .
Career
Rob McVicar began his career as a hockey goalkeeper with the Brandon Wheat Kings , for which he was active from 1999 to 2003 in the Western Hockey League . During this time he was selected in the NHL Entry Draft 2002 in the fifth round as a total of 151 players by the Vancouver Canucks . From 2003 to 2005 McVicar was initially exclusively for Vancouver's farm team from the American Hockey League , Manitoba Moose and their cooperation team Columbia Inferno from the ECHL , before he made his debut in the National Hockey League for the Vancouver Canucks on December 1, 2005 stood between the posts against the Edmonton Oilers for three minutes . However, the Canadian spent most of the season with the Victoria Salmon Kings in the ECHL.
After McVicar played for the ECHL Club Utah Grizzlies in the 2006/07 season , he moved to Europe for the first time in the following season , where he initially received a contract with Totempo HvIK from the Danish AL-Bank Ligaen , before the goalkeeper on February 2, 2009 was signed by the Hamburg Freezers from the German Ice Hockey League . There, his contract was not extended after the end of the season.
