Fritz Petsch

Fritz Petsch (born September 16, 1927 in Neuwied ) is a German worker and politician ( SPD ).

Life

Petsch attended elementary school and passed the sales assistant examination in 1944. After military service and captivity , he worked from 1946 to 1952 in Sheffield (England) as a demolition skater. Later he was a machinist, unskilled worker, technical draftsman, dispatcher, until 1979 warehouse manager in Rheinbrohl. After that he was unemployed due to the closure of the plant, then an installer and until 1990 an industrial worker at Stadtwerke GmbH Neuwied.

In 1964 he joined the SPD and held various party-political functions, including in the working group for employee issues. From 1979 to 1984 he was a member of the city council. On February 23, 1987, he replaced Manfred Scherrer in the tenth state parliament of Rhineland-Palatinate, to which he was a member until the end of the electoral term on May 15, 1987.

Since 1952 he was a member of the DGB, at times local chairman and works council. In 1957 he became a member of the workers' welfare organization, in 1979 he became a member of the public services, transport and traffic union and ver.di.
