Fritz Winkelmann

Fritz Winkelmann (born May 21, 1909 in Wittingen ; † July 22, 1993 ibid) was a German politician (DP). From 1955 to 1963 he was a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament.

From 1923 Winkelmann attended the secondary school in Hanover. He then completed a degree in law and political science at the universities of Munich, Berlin and Göttingen. From August 1939 he was a soldier in World War II. At the end of 1946 he returned from captivity. A year later he was admitted to the bar in Wittingen. From 1948 he was a member of the council of Wittingen, of which he was elected mayor in 1952. From 1952 he was a member of the district council of the Gifhorn district. From 1955 to 1963 he was a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament in its third and fourth electoral terms.
