Fronsburger Bründl
The Fronsburger Bründl is a pilgrimage site with a Marienkapelle and a spring near Fronsburg in Lower Austria . Both the Bründl Chapel and the column in front of it with a representation of Maria Immaculata are under monument protection ( list entry ).
history
The spring outside the town of Fronsburg was officially named as a healing Bründl in 1727. A pilgrimage chapel built here later fell into disrepair. The source was brought back to the population's consciousness by the Rentmeister von Fronsburg, whose eyesight was preserved by the water.
The current chapel was built and consecrated in 1878. She is looked after by the Geras Abbey .
description
In front of the chapel in the Fugnitz valley is a column with a representation of Mary. There is a water outlet below this Marian column. One level lower is a Lourdes grotto , which is also traversed by spring water.
The Bründl Chapel is a square structure with rounded corners and a steep pyramid roof. On the east side there is a rectangular portal under a triangular gable. The interior is structured with pilaster strips . The Stalingrad Madonna exhibited here and carved by Edmund Zotter was donated by the Fronsburg branch of the Austrian Comradeship Association on the occasion of the renovation of the Bründl Chapel in 1988.
The Tuscan column in front of the chapel with a representation of Maria Immaculata dates from the second half of the 18th century.
