Theodor Michelis

Theodor Michelis (born July 24, 1872 in Strasbourg , † March 23, 1936 in Berlin ) was a German officer , most recently major general and head of the Army Peace Commission after the First World War .

Life

Michelis joined the Prussian Army as a lieutenant in 1891 . He attended the War Academy and then served on the Great General Staff .

In 1914 he was on duty at the headquarters in order to be made available to the Deputy Prussian Minister of War. From 1915 Michelis worked in the War Ministry . He worked in the Department of Export and Import and in 1918 as an agent for Ukraine in the Ministry of War.

After the war ended, Michaelis became head of the Army Peace Commission in the Reichswehr Ministry . As such, he was promoted to colonel on July 1, 1922 and major general on February 1, 1927. On July 31, 1927, he resigned from military service. His grave can be found in the Invalidenfriedhof in Berlin.
