The İmtiyaz Nişanı ( Ottoman امتياز نشانی IA imtiyaz Nisani ) was an ottoman decorations and was Sultan Abdülhamit II. Donated 1879th The award was intended to honor civilian and military merits. It was allowed to be awarded to foreigners, and so a number of German soldiers received the medal during the First World War .

The award was made by the sultan himself or on his behalf. A special feature was that the honorary badge was inheritable and did not have to be returned when the wearer died.

stages

The award was presented in two stages - gold and silver. Two crossed sabers could be added to the ribbon for military service.

Appearance

The decoration is a round silver-plated or gold-plated medal. On it are trophies and the words Hamiyyet, Gayret, Şecâ'at, Sadakat (patriotism, zeal, bravery, loyalty) in Ottoman script .

Carrying method

The medal was worn on a ribbon with a wide green and red stripe on the left side of the chest.
