Froschberg tunnel

The Froschberg Tunnel (also called Lippelsdorfer Tunnel ) is located on the Probstzella – Neuhaus railway on Rennweg in Thuringia between the Gebersdorf (km 9.2) and Lippelsdorf (km 11.4) stops . It is 124 m long and was the first completed tunnel on this route. It was built between 1897 and 1898 and put into operation on October 29, 1898.

The Froschberg Tunnel was built for single-track operation. It lies in a long straight line and ends at the eastern end in a 39.5 m long arc with a radius of 180 m. The maximum gradient is 21.1 per thousand. It is lined with natural stone and overgrown with deciduous forest.
