Froylán Turcios
Froylán Turcios (* 1875 in Juticalpa , Honduras , † 1943 in San José , Costa Rica ) was a politician and an important writer in his native Honduras.
Turcios initially worked as a government minister, member of the National Congress and diplomat before he emerged as one of the most important prose writers and storytellers in the country.
In Guatemala he founded the newspaper "El Tiempo" (Die Zeit). Numerous other magazines followed later. In Honduras he was the main supporter of Augusto César Sandino . Using his magazines and books, he fought against the strong influence of American corporations in Central America . In the last years of his life he had to emigrate to Costa Rica , where he died in 1943.
