Crop rotation pathogens
As crop rotation pathogen is referred to plant pests, which are enriched by repeated cultivation of the same host plant in the soil.
This includes:
- Carbola (growing cruciferous vegetables)
- Verticillium (strawberry cultivation)
- certain nematodes (sugar beet cultivation)
The increasing soil fatigue with repeated cultivation of the same crop is also summarized under the term reproduction problems .
The crop rotation pathogens can be prevented by a varied crop rotation (cultivation rotation). Since cultivation areas can usually not be changed easily enough, soil decontamination (fumigation) with z. B. Dazomet or methyl isocyanate are necessary.
