Fryeburg Academy

The Fryeburg Academy is a private school in the United States based in Fryeburg, in Oxford County , Maine . It was founded in 1792, making it one of the oldest private schools in the country. The Fryeburg Academy is also recognized as an official high school for the 72 School District in Maine . At the school, which is not bound by ideology, not only students from the USA but also from other countries can enroll; many come from nearby Canada, some from Europe, Asia and Africa. A traditional focus of instruction is preparation for teacher training at Bowdoin College .
