The Fryer Point is the northernmost point of land from Bristol Iceland in the archipelago of the South Sandwich Islands .
Scientists from the British Discovery Investigations mapped it in 1930 and named it after Lieutenant Commander DH Fryer of the Royal Navy , captain of the survey ship HMS Fitzroy .
