Fudge is a German synth metal band from Mainburg . The band has been active since 2012.

history

The beginnings

The band was founded in December 2012 by Chris Techritz, Paul Curtis, Maximilian Amberger and Sebastian Michaelis. Techritz and Curtis knew each other from their youth and had already made music together in the Vartists project. With Maximilian Amberger and Sebastian Michaelis two guitarists could be won. Only the drums were initially unoccupied.

In the summer of 2013, Fudge managed to win first place in the Haix band contest and beat several other newcomer acts. As the first-placed band in this competition, the musicians won a studio stay lasting several days, during which four tracks were recorded in April 2014 and later released as singles. The band also released their first EP, Never Stop Firing, in self-distribution, which includes all four recordings.

Since 2015

In 2015, Fudge wrote the theme song for the independent film Bittersweet Revenge of the same name , which was released in 2016.

In the summer of 2015, the band was able to hire a drummer, Theo Neubauer, to support them at live concerts. However, he got out again in 2016 after only two appearances. He was replaced by Paul Curtis' older brother, Jake Curtis, who had previously slipped into the role of drummer for a concert at short notice.

In January 2017, the band temporarily made it to second place in the national ReverbNation metal charts for Germany.

In 2018 Paul Curtis left the band for family reasons and was replaced by Daniel Hauer.

style

The band uses classic rock and metal instruments such as electric guitar, electric bass and drums, but focuses heavily on the use of synthesizers . So they are usually not referred to as a conventional metal band. One critic labeled the band with the term "Synthesizer Metal".
