Fulk of Guînes

Fulk of Guines († around 1125 ) was a crusader and first lord of Beirut .

He was the second-born son of Count Baldwin I of Guines ( House of Guînes ) and his wife Adele (or Christine) of Holland, daughter of Count Florens I.

He was a third cousin of Eustach III. of Boulogne and third degree nephew of Robert II of Flanders . He probably accompanied them both on the First Crusade to the Holy Land . In 1110 he received from his third cousin, King Baldwin I of Jerusalem , the newly established rule of Beirut as a fief .

He died around 1125 and was buried in Beirut. After his death the fief fell back to the king, who gave it to Walter I. Brisebarre .
