Fumihiko Kakubari ( Japanese 角 張 文彦 , Kakubari Fumihiko ; born March 11, 1984 ) is a Japanese short tracker .

Athletic career

Kakubari's first appearance in the World Cup took place in the 2006/07 season, when he competed in a 1000-meter race and the first three of eight 1500-meter races of the season. In these three competitions he achieved a sixth place as the best place, over 1000 meters he was seventh. After that he was no longer used in that season in the World Cup, nor did he take part in any major events. Only in the 2007/08 World Cup did Kakubari return to international competitions, but he only started again at the first two of six World Cup stations in China and Japan. Nevertheless, he was able to post another good result in fourth over 1500 meters.

In the 2008/09 Short Track World Cup , Kakubari also competed outside of East Asia for the first time, in Canada he achieved sixth place. He is the third best Japanese in the world rankings in November 2008 and is 20th. Kakubari is one of six athletes in the Japanese men's short track national team.
