Funcheira
The place ( Vila ) Funcheira is located near the municipality of Garvão Freguesia in the Alentejo in southern Portugal .
In 2001 Funcheira had about 1,250 inhabitants on an area of 42.5 km². Funcheira is known for its train station. It is a historical building that was built at the end of the 1900 century. The two main rail connections Linha do Sul and Linha do Alentejo met in Funcheira . In 2012, operations on the Linha do Alentejo from Beja to Funcheira were discontinued. Only the trains remain on the Linha do Sul. From here the trains continue their journey south through the mountains to the Algarve .
