Functional Digital Mock-Up (FDMU), also known as Functional Mock-Up (FMU), is the further development of the Digital Mock-Up . While with the DMU only geometric aspects of three-dimensional assemblies constructed on the computer are examined, the FDMU also tries to simulate the functions of these assemblies . In this way, control software linked to a CAD system can be tested together with the 3D model .
